Table of Content [Hide]

Soft play equipment, as one of the favorite play facilities for children, not only provides a proper place for them to play, but also has positive significance for their physical and mental development and stimulation of their curiosity. In recent years, with children's parks springing up everywhere, how to maintain the various equipment in soft play areas on a daily basis has become a topic of concern. Below, the editor has summarized some daily maintenance methods for everyone~

How to Clean and Maintain Equipment

    1. Plastic and fiberglass parts: Soak in diluted soapy water or bleach solution, then scrub with a soft cloth or soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, wipe dry with a clean cloth or air dry, and finally spray with disinfectant.

    2. Sponge parts: Use a soft cloth dipped in soapy water or cleaning agent to scrub, then disinfect.

    3. Wooden parts: For moisture- and heat-resistant wood that does not fade, soak and wash with soapy water, air dry, and then spray with disinfectant.

    4. Metal parts: If there is surface rust, remove it promptly with a wire brush, wipe clean with a dry cloth, apply a coat of clear varnish and let it dry completely before disinfecting.

    5. Electrically powered parts: Ensure the power is off before cleaning. Do not pour water on them. Wipe clean with a cloth soaked in alcohol, and only reconnect to the power after it is completely dry.

    6. All playground equipment, including outdoor slides and tunnels, should not have standing water after rain. If water accumulates, it should be drained immediately.

    7. For indoor activity rooms, floors, walls, etc., disinfect daily using ultraviolet light and ensure proper ventilation. Periodically, disinfect once by spraying with hydrogen peroxide.

    How to Clean Toys

    1. Plastic toys can be soaked in clean water or cleaned and disinfected using a diluted solvent or disinfectant to ensure hygiene.

    2. When washing plush toys yourself, pay attention to separating layers. First, take out the stuffing from inside the toy and clean it separately from the outer fabric. Also, locate the seam where the toy is stuffed, carefully cut it open, remove the cotton, and then wash it.

    3. Fabric toys such as dolls and cloth books can be washed following the instructions on the packaging and should be cleaned regularly.

    4. Wooden toys, because wood absorbs water and is prone to pests, should not be washed. If necessary, they can be sun-dried.

    5. Electronic toys cannot be washed. If needed, they can be wiped with a damp cloth that has been wrung out.

    How to Maintain Slides

    1. It is recommended to perform maintenance every 15 days. Any area that passengers may touch should have no sharp edges, corners, or burrs. If cracks, deformation, or breakage are found, repairs should be made in time.

    2. After prolonged use, dust may accumulate on the surface of the slide. Use a cleaning agent regularly to maintain the smoothness of the surface. Daily maintenance can be done with car wax to keep it smooth.

    3. In severe weather, such as hail, outdoor slides should be covered with cloth or other protective materials in advance to prevent damage from hail.

    4. When the slide will not be used for an extended period, wrap it tightly with colored tarpaulins to avoid sun exposure and slow down the aging of the slide's coating.

    5. Check the slide's connecting fasteners and uprights, and tighten any loose bolts promptly.

    6. Inspect the slide's foundation. If it is loose, shifted, or displaced, reinforce it immediately.

    7. Check the slide for signs of aging. If the slide surface is aging, contact the manufacturer to determine whether it can continue to be used.
